How We Help Roasters
One of the big challenges with running a consulting firm is that there’s often ambiguity in what a consulting firm even does, how / if they get result for their clients, and moreover, who a firm serves.
At the risk of this being overwhelmingly self-serving, I do think it is helpful to articulate what we do, how we help, and who we help.
Before I go any further, I should note that my goal has always been for Pomelo to be a co-conspirator in the success of the roasters who engage me, as well as to the folks who may just be observing in the distance through the insights and learnings I share.
To that end, here are the 6 Pillars of my business:
Our Six Pillars
Diagnostic Assessments
One-On-One Coaching
Junto Owner’s Groups
Virtual Offsites
Writing
Good Folks Podcast
Here’s the nitty-gritty on how we might be able to work together.
Diagnostic Assessments
What is it:
The Diagnostic Assessment is a 360° assessment of your whole roastery and business.
The Diagnostic Assessment will equip you with:
The know-how to increase your profit
A road map of how to improve the 25 areas assessed
The benchmarking necessary to help you understand how your business stacks up against your competition and to leverage it to your advantage.
How much is it: $6,000 (for roasters doing less than $6 million in annual revenue)
Who’s a good fit:
There are three groups that the Diagnostic Assessment is built for:
Those who are preparing to sell and want to know what areas need to be improved to get the most for their business
Those who are evaluating a business to determine if it’s worth what the seller is asking
Owners who need another set of eyes to take their roastery to the next level of excellence
One-On-One Coaching
What is it:
We spend time together working on whatever challenges, hurdles, or projects you’d like support with.
Some examples of previous projects:
Guidance on M&A
Guidance on developing corporate structure
Guidance on how to coach, lead, and develop a team
How much is it: $250 per hour
Who’s a good fit:
We do one-on-one coaching with pre-revenue startups all the way up to multimillion-dollar roastery owners.
Junto Owner’s Groups
What is it:
Junto is a cohort of roastery owners offering camaraderie, candid feedback, and professional development, exclusively for owners of coffee roasters.
There are two different tiers both offer:
Monthly group session (90 minutes) including hot-seat presentations
Professional assessment
Monthly curriculum and all learning elements
How much is it: $125 per month - $375 per mont
Who’s a good fit:
This group is open to any roastery owner. Most cohort members do between $500,000 and $6 million+ in annual revenue.
Virtual Offsites
What is it:
Quarterly, I organize a virtual offsite with industry leaders to share insight from their particular corner of the industry.
How much is it:
$100 per person, but free to Junto Growth Members
Who’s a good fit for it:
This is open to anyone in the coffee industry.
